Did You Know that September is Neonatal Intensive Care Awareness Month (NICA)?

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit’s across the country house our smallest, most fragile babies and help them to recover, grow and eventually thrive outside of the NICU. It is hard to imagine what life is like in the NICU if you have never had a baby in the NICU. NICA Month was founded in 2014 to raise awareness about the challenges that babies, families, and health professionals face in the NICU. It is designed to honor families experiencing stays in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the health professionals who care for them. In honor of NICA month, mothers, fathers, grandparents, NICU nurses, and neonatologists have taken the time to share their stories to raise awareness about the challenges, the joys, the grief, the loss, and the perseverance experienced in the NICU every single day.

Below is a link to great blog that gives just a sliver of the kinds of things NICA Month is raising awareness about….it will pull at your heart strings:)
